Registration & T-shirts
Includes signing in runners, giving out shirts to runners, and roaming start/finish line to answer questions and assist as needed. Help needed at pre-reg on Saturday day and evening (day before the race) as well on Sunday before & during the race.
Our enthusiastic troupe of race volunteers are stretched out along the course to mark it and to cheer on the runners. Includes giving out water on the course and sweeping the course as the runners pass for safety.
Volunteer options here are two:
5k route monitor (need to be fairly fit, will get to experience part of the course just like the runners so ideal for anyone who has a friend or family member running either race)
10k route monitor (need to be very fit, will get to experience most of the course, can run back in during your sweep if you wish). Please indicate fitness level when applying for either Course Monitor position.
For tide safety reasons, all course monitors will be under the supervision of an experienced course team captain.
We have the kind assistance annually of the Canadian Ski Patrol but we always welcome a few extra medics to assist either on the course or at the finish line. Mostly just a cuts n' scrapes help position. Please advise if you can assist.
Cheer on the racers, give out water and bananas, help get feet unstuck from mud (just kidding, well, not really!!), monitor all runs for crowd control, including the kids' runs.
So, just do it, sign up. If you don’t have a strong preference or special skill, leave your assignment to us. PLEASE indicate your level of fitness if you want to be a Course Monitor.
We will contact you ahead of the race to confirm your job and give you details about when and where to arrive. There will be race day orientation for new volunteers.
And you get a free shirt which you can pick up on the day before the run, or race day. Thanks very much. Click Here To Volunteer
